SNS wants review of KAP`s activity
Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Serbian National Party (SNS) has asked the parliament to set up a special group to investigate business activities of the aluminium plant Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica (KAP) since 1990 to date. "If the Legal board, the Restructuring Agency and the Legal Secretariat are right that the Commission for the supervision of the transparency of the privatisation process has no authority to investigate the situation in KAP because it has not been privatised yet, a special group needs to be set up," Andrija Mandic, SNS deputy at the parliament said. He said that there had been allegations of some illegal activities in KAP and accused the company of forging its final financial statements. The commission for the supervision of the transparency of the privatisation process has planned to discuss a management contract between KAP and Swiss Glencore but the Restructuring Agency said the body was not authorised to do that because KAP had not been privatised yet. The management contract was signed in 1998 when KAP had a negative 134 million US dollar capital.
