Taxi drivers from Kotor are asking for stopping of illegal transport
Association of taxi drivers from Kotor are requesting from municipality and the competent Ministry to resolve the problem of illegal taxi transportation, its influence on increase of prices of services of legal transporters and inadequate taxi stations. President of Association of taxi drivers Port of Kotor Miodrag Vlaovic said that in case republic and municipal inspectors, president of municipality did not fulfill their demands taxi drivers would, together with their colleagues from Tivat and Herceg Novi, organize blockade of roads leading to this cities. "It is unfortunately the only way to call the attention to the problem of legal transportation of passengers", said Vlaovic. At the meeting held tow days ago Mayor of Kotor Nikola Konjevic promised that this problem would be resolved in a quality way and the strike would probably not be organized. Vlaovic claims that the taxi drivers from Kotor were given no other new location for taxi station for the last ten years and the already existing five taxi parking places at the bus station and 8 on Riva did not satisfy the current needs. He emphasized that the Association turned to Security Department of Kotor and they asked from them a permit for short holding on the occasion of passengers# entering and living the taxi on the plateau in front of the main city entrance but so far it has not been allowed. Taxi drivers form Kotor formed association Port of Kotor a year ago with a goal of protecting this field of activity and providing professional services to passengers.
