Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - An international tender for the privatisation of Crna Gora hotelier (UTIP CG) will be launched by mid-May and so far two foreign companies have expressed interest in setting up a joint venture. The tender will be launched by the hotelier#s management, for the first time since late 1997 when the first effort to privatise the enterprise failed. General Manager of UTIP CG Radomir Zec did not wish to disclose the names of two foreign companies and said that there was also a possibility of selling the hotelier#s four hotels or leasing them. An interest in setting up a joint venture refers to hotels Crna Gora and Podgorica, that would lead to an investment in their reconstruction and refurbishment, Zec told Mina-business. Around 10 million euros would be required to invest in a swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre, hairdressing and cosmetic parlours, and an underground garage. The company is looking at a possibility to privatise as it finds it hard to get a bank loan to upgrade its hotels. The Crna Gora hotel, which generates around 80 percent of the company#s annual profit, is in the A category and spreads across 12,800 square metres. UTIP CG invested over the past 15 years around 4.5 million euros in maintaining the hotel.
