Podgorica, (Montena-business)- The title and documentation in the article about the TCP (Tobacco Company Podgorica) don#t refer to this company, said Veljko Rakocevic, director of the TCP, at their press conference.
In an article "Barovic, Vujosevic and State Security were pressuring the TCP" the Dan daily announced correspondence between director Rakocevic and at that time the higher State Prosecutor, Bozidar Vukcevic about the tobacco business.
"The truth and law are not based on words but on the documents, and they are approved by the authorised office. The one who claims that he was damaged by this office#s decision can restart the process and ask for justice" said Rakocevic.
Rakocevic said that at the time when the State Prosecutor had demanded it from the TCP#s management, the State Prosecutor had delivered all documentation about tobacco business to Rakcevic and to the finance police.
Rakocevic concluded that the texts in the Dan daily had its# origins in personal and political difference between him and the ex-director of the Direction of Public Incomes, Dusko Jovanovic.
Rakocevic claims that the TCP will finish this year with a positive result, and that the prices will not be changed before the start of the Law on excises.
"Caused by the high taxes defined in this law, prices will probably be higher after the law is adopted, but we suggested that the prices should grow planned in the next three years" said Rakocevic.
According to Rakocevic, all big world tobacco companies showed an interest in buying the TCP, such as the Phillip Morris, which representatives visited the company and took documentation of the tender.
"The results of that visit will be visible soon, because the TCP is going to sell cigarettes of this American company in its retail shops" claims Rakocevic.
Rakocevic added that the TCP would make an agreement with the Serbian Government about the release of the census for tobacco wholesalers in Serbia, according to the new Law on tobacco, which will be adopted soon.
"The amount of the census is still not defined, but it will be about DEM several million. We hope it will not refer to the TCP" said Rakocevic.
