Podgorica, March 19, 2001 (Montena-fax/business) – 50% more tourists from Bosnia Herzegovina are expected to visit Montenegro this year, said the Director of the Tourist Organization of Montenegro, Velibor Zolak. He believes that more Bosnian tourists would come to Montenegro if they would be allowed to enter Montenegro only with their identification documents as it was done in Croatia. “If we do not manage to introduce a green card, the best thing to do would be to abolish insurance taxes, which at the moment amount to 30 DEM. Accomplishment of these two projects would increase the number of tourists for 100%, since the prices on Montenegrin coast are lower than those on the Croatian coast.”, said Zolak. According to his words, the main advantage is that Bosnian tourists mostly use car as a means of transport, and therefore, there will be no problems regarding the arrangement of airlines. The Minister of Tourism, Vladimir Mitrovic, who attended the “Intours” fair, said the Bosnian currency would be convertible in Montenegro. He also announced the abolishment of insurance taxes by June 1 this year. Twenty-six Bosnian media attended the press conference organized in Sarajevo by the Tourist Organization.
