Niksic (MINA-BUSINESS) – The production of electricity between January and May 19 was 28.2 percent below planned and nearly two times below the last year#s level, the power company Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) said. "Montenegro produced 6.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. The consumption rose 4.3 percent on the same period last year due to higher consumption by the aluminium factory," director of the transmission and power management sector Branko Kotri said. He said the power situation was very bad, due to low water levels. EPCG was also facing financial difficulties because of its 400,000 U.S. dollar debt to the Greek power company, which must be repaid in the next seven-to-eight days.
