Consumption of Electrical Energy
Podgorica, (Montena-business) - At today#s meeting of the Board of Association of Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metallurgy, Energetic, Metal-Working and Engineering Industry of the Chamber of Trade of Montenegro (PKCG), the proposal of Electric-Power Industry on introduction of block tariff for payment of electrical energy has been supported.
"The Chamber of Trade will support the block tariff for payment of consumed electrical energy, because it will rationalize the consumption. This measure of electricity saving will affect the synchronization of production and consumption of electricity in Montenegro," the Board#s members claim.
They also requested passing of the investment decision on construction of a new electro-energetic source in Montenegro this year that would, with provision of financial means, be completed in five years.
The Board#s members stated they were not satisfied by the State#s plan to remove social policy from the companies and define it in line with its abilities, estimating that the Government should determine the exact sum of money for this purpose.
"The PKCG suggests that the Plan of Economic Policy for 2002 should include the foundation of an institution for credits# insurance, and to provide transparent distribution of credits to small and middle enterprises," it was said at the meeting.
The Government did not accept the proposal of PKCG on changing the minimal wage with hour price, so PKCG announced that cancellation of the General Collective Contract, in case it were not significantly changed.
The PKCG stated that public consumption this year would not be reduced for 5%, because the Government did not precisely state how it would disburden the economy with tax reduction. The Government just envisaged that it would happen by expansion of the tax base and introduction of different tax forms.
Complaints of the Board regarding economic policy for the sectors, referred to the urgent recovery and transformation of wood-processing industry; provision of export premiums at the level of tax on wages and contributions for textile industry and metal-processing industry as well as to equalization of local and foreign agricultural producers.
"The Government#s proposal lacks the Strategy for development of civil engineering and Program of paying of debts of the Directorate for Public Works, ministries and funds for construction land to some contractors" stated the Board.
It is necessary to pass new Laws on Traffic, and a program for survival of fleets of shipping companies and to create new education programs for employees in tourism, concluded the members of the Board of Association of Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metallurgy, Energetic, Metal-Working and Engineering Industry of the Chamber of Trade of Montenegro.
