Tomorrow Meeting of the Second Synchronisation Interconnection Zone

Tomorrow Meeting of the Second Synchronisation Interconnection Zone
Beograd, (Montena – business) – The meeting of representatives of the second synchronisation of electro-energetic interconnection zone, or members of the Electro-energetic coordination Centre (ECC), in which Montenegro is a member as well, will start tomorrow in Belgrade and it will last 2 days. The ECC, which is placed in Belgrade, coordinates work of the electro-energetic systems of Republika Srpska, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Romania and Albania. Solving the problem of some countries’ debts, caused by illegal taking of electricity, is the topic of the meeting, and also creating a platform for normalisation of this year’s work in the system of interconnection. As ECC recently reported to Montena-business the main debtor last year was Montenegro, then Macedonia and Albania. From the beginning of this winter until now, Montenegro illegally took 56 million kilo-watt-hours from the neighbouring countries’ system. Because of big quantities of electrical energy illegally being taken by these countries, last week the Bulgarian Electro Company protested and warned that the country will leave the system of interconnection, which would cause, according to opinion of ECC’s officials, ‘a break-down of the whole system’. At the meeting, Elektroprivreda of Montenegro Company (EPMN) will present its platform for paying off the debts caused by illegal taking of electricity, to the members of the interconnection system. EPMN’s representatives today denied giving more details about the platform, with explanation that it will be reported after the meeting ends. km/bd
