Members of Group for highway traffic in the Chamber of commerce of Montenegro proposed today to the Government to define by a special regulation kind of vehicle that can be used in providing certain traffic services.
"Group should discuss on possibility of passing such regulation and propose solutions so that it could be defined by which kind of vehicles passengers can be transported and the Ministry in-charge will support any opinion that can help in stopping the gray economy in this sphere", said minister of maritime and traffic assistant Milovan Djurickovic.
It was concluded at the session that it was necessary to continue with coordinated action of all the competent republic and municipal organs on eliminating the illegal transport of passengers and conducting of the existing regulations from the sphere of traffic.
"In the next ten days we shall follow the results of the joint engagement of Ministry of internal affairs and Ministry of maritime and traffic, traffic, financial and work inspection, as well as municipal organs on stopping the illegal transport in Podgorica. On the basis of results of this action we shall continue eliminating gray economy in the sphere of traffic in the other Montenegrin municipalities", announced Djurickovic.
Members of the Group estimated that the highway passengers# traffic on established routes was under the control of Municipalities but that due to the high level of gray economy present in this sphere of traffic it is necessary to get engaged in legalization.
They estimated that it should be forbidden for van transporters to perform taxi services and transport of passengers on established routes with the exception of routes considered by municipality as unprofitable and unconditional for bus transport.
Concluding that it was the right time for resolving the problem of the illegal transport since preparations for the following tourist season were in progress, highway transporters demanded consistent appliance of the existing traffic regulations and elimination of the illegal work of registered transporters.
"This problem should be first resolved in the very firm since all the registered transporters are realizing inter-city transport through the center of the town and city traffic firms participate in intercity transport of passengers even though it is not in line with the law. It is also necessary in-charge ministries of Serbia and Montenegro to regulate their transport of passengers by special rides during the tourist season", consider highway transporters.
It was also proposed at the meeting introduction of tickets fro van transport as well as categorization and technical ability of these vehicles. It was estimated that it was necessary to define by legal regulations difference between bus and minibus used for transport of passengers.
