In Podgorica, there are more than 19,000 unemployed, which is 8.5% less than in the same period last year, states the Agency of labour.
Manager of the Agency, Zoran Jelic, said that unemployment was still reducing, but more than 30% of unemployed did not want to find a job because illegal work brought them better income, and they registered themselves in the Agency only because of the health insurance.
“Of the total number of unemployed registered in the Institution for employment, 63% or 12,500 are women. About 11,000 or 60% of persons is waiting for a job for more than 3 years,” said Jelic.
He claims that the problem of employment is particularly expressed among unqualified workers – more than 6,000 of them, or 32%.
“There are more than 1,300 semi-qualified workers who are looking for a job, and among them the most numerous are typists. There are about 4,400 qualified persons, of which the most numerous are sellers. Economic and commercial technicians as well as graduates of grammar schools are the most numerous profiles with secondary education,” said Jelic.
He said that there were only 53 highly qualified workers and that they did not wait long for a job, and added that about 960 persons with high and higher education were registered as unemployed, and among them the most numerous were jurists and economists.
“There are more than 1,500 workers that were left without job because of the bankruptcy of their companies, and the most numerous are unqualified – about 66%,” said Jelic.
He said that Bureau needed cooks, waiters and pastry-cooks, and of high education – electronic engineers – informatics, graduated jurists with knowledge of German language and graduated economists with experience in foreign trade.
“The Institution realizes the training for re-qualification of unemployed in order to train sufficient number of persons for jobs for which workers are needed,” explained Jelic.
