Podgorica, (Montena-business)- The World Bank (WB) today approved US$ 2 million for removing the garbage at the Montenegrin Coast, and this amount was decided by the Agreement signed by the Bank’s representative, Rory O’Sullivan and the director of the Montenegrin Coast Company, Predrag Bjelobrkovic.
O’Sullivan said that Montenegro would get this money at the first quarter next year, and that the World Bank also prepared a project of giving micro credits to small Montenegrin entrepreneurs, and a help project in overcoming the problem with electrical energy.
According to the Minister of Environmental Protection, Rade Gregovic, the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBMN) proposed the way for solving the problem of water system in Kotor, Tivat and Budva and the bank would provide US$ 1,35 million for a common depot of garbage from these 3 municipalities.
“US$ 650,000 was decided for solving the water supplying problem in Gornja Zeta” said Gregovic.
The main WB’s economist for FRY, Ardo Hanson explained that besides the support to concrete projects, the WB approved also loans for reforms, which should improve micro economical stability in a country, economic growth and provide protection to the poorest citizens.
First reforms will be performed in managing the public expenses, in the pension system, in the labour market, in improving business climate and in the sector of energy” Hanson said.
He added that the help of US$ 15 million to the Montenegrin Budget would be paid out during next year, and it would depend on the strength of the reform program.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Miomir Mugosa informed the WB’s representatives about the water source problems and canalisation net problems in the Podgorica suburb of Zagoric. The Mayor confirmed that the town was ready for common investments in certain projects.
