Workers of the stock company "Mehanizacija i programat" have decided today to go on general strike due to nine unpaid salaries and they have also announced they will block the highway roads in case until next Wednesday they are not given salaries for June, July and August of last year. Todays meeting of the trade union was attended by the director of the firm Dusan Djurovic. Workers have announced that they would come to work till Wednesday inspite of being on strike. They added that in case their conditions were not fulfilled they would also block the firms that owe them money. Djurovic informed the workers that the firms demands of 1,8 million DM and that the Municipal assembly had biggest debt towards this firm amounting to 1,4 million DM and the Construction firm of Montenegro the debt of which amounted to approximately 300 million DM. According to him the firm still was profitable during last year concerning the fact that it owed about 1,7 million DM to its partners. At the meeting held recently with representatives of this firm municipal assembly announced it could not pay the whole debt while Construction firm of Montenegro representatives promised to pay the debt next week. Djurovic said that salary for June will most probably be given today while the rest depended on dynamic of debts payments. Stock company "Mehanizacija i programat" was until four years ago in scope of Construction firm of Montenegro. After finalization of Mass voucher privatization fund MIG obtained 30% of stocks while 20% is owned by the Pension Fund. The rest of stocks belongs to workers and citizens.
