Lakicevic sentenced to one year in prison for threatening judge

 

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – The High Court in Bijelo Polje has upheld the verdict of the Basic Court in Podgorica, sentencing Vuk Lakicevic to one year in prison for threatening the Podgorica High Court judge Vesna Kovacevic.

 

The Basic Court in Podgorica established that Lakicevic, in the proceedings before the Special Division of the Podgorica High Court, where he is among the defendants on charges of committing the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and attempted murder, had threatened Kovacevic by saying, “You terrorist, be careful”.

 

“The Podgorica Basic Court delivered a first-instance verdict in which Lakicevic was found guilty of the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of official duties and sentenced him to one year in prison”, the press release said.

 

It added that the verdict has been upheld by the Bijelo Polje High Court, acting as a second-instance court.
