Zeta residents block roundabout near Podgorica Airport, announce additional blockades

Podgorica, (MINA) – A group of residents of Zeta blocked the roundabout leading to Podgorica Airport in protest against the start of construction of the wastewater treatment plant in Botun, Pobjeda daily reports.

Democratic People’s Party (DNP) leader Milan Knezevic joined the protesters at the blockade, saying that he was prepared to spend the New Year’s Eve at that place and invited Prime Minister Milojko Spajic to come to the roundabout and talk to the citizens of Zeta.

He announced additional blockades throughout Zeta, and invited everyone to join them in “a march on Botun”.

“Since Milojko Spajic has said that he wants to talk, let him come here to talk with the citizens of Zeta, because we will no longer allow humiliation or underestimation of our people. Go to Botun and see how many police forces are there, what the police are doing to the citizens of Botun, searching their houses and every vehicle”, said Knezevic.

He reiterated that he would propose to the DNP Presidency to leave the Government and the local government in Podgorica.

“If the Presidency does not accept, which I doubt, I will resign from the position of the party president and MP, and I will come here with these people to protect the interests of the citizens of Zeta”, said Knezevic.
