Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Head of the Directorate for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Tourism Maja Kovacevic, Montenegro has seen an increase in the number of tourists from distant markets such as the United States, China, Israel, and Azerbaijan. 

The Ministry stated in a press release that Kovacevic highlighted the need for further diversification of tourism markets to sustain this trend.

She explained that this approach helped reduce the impact of external challenges beyond the country’s control, such as economic or geopolitical crises.

“That’s why one of the Ministry of Tourism’s strategic goals is to expand Montenegro’s tourism offering throughout the entire year and to reduce reliance on a small number of source markets,” Kovacevic said.

Kovacevic also highlighted the importance of strengthening air connectivity, given Montenegro’s geographic location. She welcomed the fact that more than 95 air routes are available this summer from Podgorica and Tivat.
