European integration has strong support from the business community

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of European Affairs and the Association of Montenegrin Managers (AMM) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing an institutional framework for stronger involvement of the organized business community in the European integration process.

“The Memorandum marks an important step towards closer cooperation between institutions and the business community in the areas of leadership development, improvement of managerial skills, promotion of European governance standards, and the use of opportunities provided by membership in the European Union (EU),” the Ministry and AMM said in a press release.

The Memorandum was signed by Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorcevic and AMM President Budimir Raickovic.

“Successful completion of negotiations with the EU requires active partnership between institutions and all relevant stakeholders, and the business community has an important role in this process.,” Gorcevic said.

She added that the European Commission (EC) has included Montenegro in the EU’s next seven-year budget framework and allocated €3.2 billion, which means significantly greater financial resources for the national economy.

Raickovic said that, for AMM, the Memorandum marks the beginning of a new level of institutional partnership with the Ministry of European Affairs.

“European integration is not only about aligning legislation. It is about the people who will transform European standards into better management, more responsible decision-making and sustainable development,” he said.
