Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordic said that the positive performance of this year's tourism season places an even greater responsibility on all institutions and tourism stakeholders to continue working in a coordinated and responsible manner.

Kordic chaired a meeting of the Coordination Body for the Preparation and Monitoring of the Tourism Season, aimed at continuously monitoring the progress of the season, addressing operational challenges, and coordinating the activities of all relevant institutions.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Tourism Organisation (NTO), local tourist boards, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG), the Police Administration, and other competent authorities. 

Participants reviewed the latest data confirming the positive trend in the tourism sector.

According to the Ministry, Montenegro recorded growth in both tourist arrivals and overnight stays during the first five months of this year. 

Positive results were also achieved in May, when the number of foreign tourists increased by around 7 percent compared with the same month last year, while overnight stays also rose by approximately 7 percent.
