Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of the Union of Free Trade Unions (USSCG) will no longer participate in the work of the Social Council until the Government changes its approach, which they said amounts to a simulation of social dialogue.
“They have turned social dialogue into a vicious circle, where they constantly ask for more time to provide us with something concrete, only to fail to appear at scheduled meetings or attend without a concrete proposal,” USSCG said in a press release.
According USSCG, such social dialogue is staged by the Government and, as such, is dysfunctional.
“Until this behaviour changes, USSCG will no longer participate in the work of the Social Council, because we do not want to give legitimacy to a mere formality. We want to build an effective and constructive social dialogue based on mutual respect and equality between social partners and the Government,” the press release reads.
USSCG said that today’s meeting of the Presidency of the Social Council, at which the Government was expected to present its model for increasing employees’ wages, ended without conclusions again, as has repeatedly happened in the past eight months.
