Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In the third quarter, passenger transport showed growth in road, local road, and airport transport, while rail transport recorded a decline compared to the same period last year.

According to Monstat, the number of passengers transported by rail decreased by 14.4 percent, while road transport increased by 0.2 percent, local road transport by 2.4 percent, and airport transport by 9.2 percent.

“Freight transport in the third quarter, compared to the same period last year, decreased in rail and airport transport by 21.6 percent and 10.1 percent, respectively, while road transport and total cargo traffic in ports grew by 1.2 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively,” the statement said.

The number of tons handled in ports in the third quarter increased by 9.7 percent compared to the same quarter last year, while the number of tons shipped decreased by 2.8 percent.
