Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro is a credible partner in the international fight against crime, it was stated at a meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza.

During the meeting in Davos, according to the press release from Spajic’s office, it was pointed out that Interpol would like Montenegro to have its own representative at the organization’s headquarters in Lyon, in order to contribut more effectively to Interpol’s mission and to strengthen the country’s ties with the entire law enforcement system.

Interpol stated that Montenegro is a very important member of that organization, and that they highly appreciate the activities Spajic is undertaking to promote country’s development and progress.

Urquiza said that Interpol’s mission is to support Montenegrin law enforcement services.

“During the meeting, it was pointed out that today it is not possible to fight crime without international cooperation and coordination of law enforcement services”, the press release said.
