Over €217,000 worth of fines issued

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – More than €217,000 worth of fines were imposed during a coordinated inspections carried out across 12 municipalities between 20 and 24 May, on the occasion of Montenegro's Independence Day.
At a meeting of the Coordination Body for the Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight, chaired by Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorovic, reports on the activities of inspection services for May were adopted and the results of the intensified controls during Independence Day were summarized.
“Between 20 and 24 May, on the occasion of Independence Day, a coordinated action of joint inspection controls was carried out in 12 municipalities with the aim of improving legal compliance in business operations, protecting consumers, and safeguarding the public interest during a period of increased holiday activities and higher tourist traffic,” a press release reads.
A total of 47 inspectors participated in the comprehensive operation, representing the tax administration, labour inspection, sanitary inspection, tourism inspection, market inspection, and food safety inspection services.
Joint inspections were conducted in the municipalities of Podgorica, Kotor, Budva, Zabljak, and Rozaje. In addition, tax and market inspectors carried out controls in Bar, Ulcinj, Cetinje, Niksic, Kolasin, Herceg Novi, and Danilovgrad in accordance with their operational plans.
During the five-day holiday operation, a total of 279 inspections were carried out.
