Podgorica, (MINA) - Chief of Police Administration Lazar Scepanovic said that he will not allow police officers to work hand in hand with criminals, that he will settle accounts with the past and will not tolerate political pressures.

In an interview with Vijesti daily, Scepanovic announced that the Police Administration has prepared a package of measures to combat organized crime next year, expressing hope “that in the coming period conditions will be created for a cooperating witness to be found who could reveal more than one of the accused – the spokesman of the Kavaci clan”.

He pointed out that strengthening the personnel capacities of the Financial Intelligence Sector is an imperative for his leadership of the Police Administration “to strengthen that sector, which will be the starting point and foundation for the Special Police Department and the Special State Prosecutor’s Office”.

Scepanovic said that he believes he is the first Chief of the Police to have fulfilled all formal requirements and obtained all necessary consents and opinions before the Government made a decision to appoint him to a full term.
