Sustainability Academy expands to the Montenegrin market

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Sustainability Academy, a free educational platform, is expanding its activities to the Montenegrin market this year through cooperation with the Montenegrin Employers Federation (UPCG), further strengthening regional knowledge-sharing, exchange of experience, and practical solutions for more sustainable and resilient business operations.

The Sustainability Academy is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to improve their operations through sustainability principles, corporate social responsibility, and ESG standards.

The programme was launched in Romania in 2023 as part of the regional Sustainable Futures initiative, with support from the Coca-Cola Foundation, and is now implemented in five countries across Central and Eastern Europe.

According to a press release from the UPCG, the programme now also brings together lecturers and participants from Montenegro.

Director of International Programmes at Social Innovation Solutions Andrei Georgescu said that from the outset, the Sustainability Academy was envisioned as a regional platform connecting organizations, experts, and SMEs around a common goal – building more sustainable and resilient businesses.

“Our role at Social Innovation Solutions is to develop partnerships and regional cooperation that enable this exchange of knowledge to take place in a practical and accessible way throughout Central and Eastern Europe,” Georgescu said.

As sustainability becomes increasingly important for companies’ competitiveness, market access, and cooperation with large systems and international partners, the need for practical knowledge and tools in this field is also growing among SMEs. For this reason, the Sustainability Academy develops content tailored to the specific challenges businesses face in their day-to-day operations.
