Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) - A ceremony marking the beginning of preparatory works on the second section of the Bar–Boljare motorway, from Matesevo to Andrijevica, will be held tomorrow in Matesevo.

The event, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., will mark the launch of one of Montenegro’s most significant infrastructure projects and will bring together representatives of the Government, public institutions, international partners, contractors and companies involved in the project’s implementation.

The second section of the Bar–Boljare motorway, connecting Matesevo and Andrijevica, is an extension of the country’s priority transport corridor, which is intended to link northern and southern Montenegro and improve regional connectivity.

The €694 million construction contract was signed in February with the Chinese consortium PowerChina–STECOL–PCCD, and the project is scheduled for completion within five years.

The Matesevo–Andrijevica section will be 23 kilometres long.
