Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will operate the Tivat–Barcelona route starting 31 March next year, following an agreement reached at a meeting between the management of Airports of Montenegro (ACG) and their Spanish counterparts held in Barcelona.
According to a press release from ACG, tickets are already available.
“This means that we have a connection with Spain for all seven months of the summer aviation season,” explained ACG Executive Director Roko Tolic.
ACG stated in a press release that the importance and potential of this route is evident from the fact that, this past summer, passengers from Montenegro extensively used multiple connecting flights offered upon arrival in Barcelona.
“According to Vueling’s data, our citizens frequently used flights from Tivat to Barcelona to reach Tenerife, Lisbon, and Nice. So, with a flight from Tivat and a quick connection in Barcelona, you are within reach of the Canary Islands, as well as Portugal and France,” Tolic said.
He also reminded that, starting next summer season, Tivat will be connected not only to Barcelona but also for the first time to Madrid (via Iberia).
“This agreement is the result of cooperation between ACG and the IAG group, which owns Iberia and Vueling, as well as Aer Lingus, Level, and British Airways,” ACG stated.
