PKCG strengthens link between education, innovation and labour market through GROWTH4BLUE

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), the key sectors of blue economy – maritime transport, fisheries, aquaculture, marine biotechnology, and coastal tourism – will be significantly strengthened by mid-2027 through the GROWTH4BLUE project.

Supported by the European Union, the project is developing innovative employment models, digital tools, and training programmes tailored to real labour market needs.

“This regional project, funded under the Interreg ADRION programme, aims to boost the resilience and competitiveness of the blue economy in the Adriatic-Ionian region by connecting business, education, and innovation,” the Chamber stated in a press release.

PKCG is a partner in the GROWTH4BLUE project, which is led by the Regional Authority of Western Greece, with the participation of institutions from Italy, Slovenia, and North Macedonia.

According to the press release, the Chamber organized an Info Day in Podgorica to present the project’s objectives and activities.

Tanja Radusinovic, Director of the Projects Department at PKCG, stated that the project aims to address systemic challenges, including the shortage of qualified labour and the slow adoption of technological innovations.

The goal is to develop sustainable employment models that will ensure long-term resilience and competitiveness across the region’s blue economy sectors.

She added that activities such as labour market analysis and the development of advanced online tools, capable of processing and analyzing job advertisements, will lay the groundwork for a deeper understanding of labour market dynamics and enable faster adaptation of training programmes.

“These tools will empower employers, educational institutions, and policymakers to respond more effectively and proactively to the emerging demands and opportunities within the blue economy,” said Radusinovic.

As part of the Info Day, Radivoje Drobnjak delivered a lecture titled “The Digital Age: Purpose-Driven Entrepreneurship,” aimed at reinforcing the project’s key messages.
