Podgorica, (MINA) - The EU-Western Balkans Summit, held in Tivat on Friday, is strong confirmation that the Union recognizes and appreciates Montenegro’s efforts on the EU path, said Boris Pejovic, a member of the Europe Now Movement Presidency and Deputy Parliament Speaker.

He stated that the messages sent by the top-ranking European officials represent a strong incentive to continue with the reforms that lead Montenegro to achieve its strategic goal – full membership in the EU.

“It is particularly significant that Montenegro hosted this important gathering, the largest and most significant in our history, which once again confirmed the country’s role as a leader in the European integration process in the region” said Pejovic.

He pointed out that the organization of such a meeting represents further confirmation of Montenegro’s growing international reputation and the trust that European partners have in its European course.

As he noted, that is why the European leaders assessed that Montenegro’s membership in the EU is an achievable goal, provided that reforms continue, the rule of law is strengthened and institutions are further improved.
