Tivat, (MINA) – The authorities in Serbia have not and will not ban the broadcasting of Montenegrin television programs, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, adding that this is not a solution, but that arguments should always be presented.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, answering the question of whether he had watched the documentary “Referendum – A Fictional Story” whether he still maintains that there is nothing offensive to Montenegro and Montenegrins in it, he said that he had not watched the movie, but that he watched a lot things on Vijesti TV, where, as he said, terrible insults were directed against him and Serbia every day.
"And I have never banned you because of that, nor have I ever sued you. If one film is enough for you to ban a television program, then that says much more about the one who is seeking to ban it, than about that program. We will not impose such bans”, said Vucic.
He said that the provision on forcible annexation was included in Montenegrin Law, and that because of it the citizens of Montenegro will not be banned from entering Serbia.
When asked to comment on the allegations that he attempted to provoke another political scandal similar to the one in Potocari, Vucic said that he had gone there to lay flowers.
He said that the Serbian side remained silent all this time regarding “the violent annexation and the fact that someone stole 14 percent of our territory”.
Commenting on the Summit, Vucic said that the discussion was very productive.
“The most important thing is that we translated to the people what we have been heard, about gradual integration, the proposal issued by Emmanuel Macron and Friedrich Merz through the non-paper, and all the initiatives presented today," said Vučić.
He said that Serbia fully supports that approach.
