Podgorica, (MINA) – The issue of salaries of judiciary employees and the Constitutional Court judges must be regulated in a transparent and long-term sustainable way, said the President of the Constitutional Court Snezana Armenko.
According to the press release from the Constitutional Court, addressing the public interest in the salaries of its judges, Armenko said that they understand the concerns of some citizens regarding the judges’ salaries, salary supplements and the legitimate question of whether they are justified.
Armenko pointed out that public trust is the foundation of every constitutional court system and that is why the salaries of holders of the highest constitutional court and judicial offices must reflect achieved results.
The Constitutional Court, as Armenko stated, represents the last mechanism for the protection of constitutionality and legality, decides on the protection of human rights and freedoms, and its decisions have lasting consequences for the work of all three branches of government.
“That’s why I believe that the issue of salaries of holders of judicial positions and Constitutional Court judges must be regulated in a transparent and long-term sustainable way”, said Armenko.
