Bogdanovic: Democrats will not support RTCG Council candidates convicted in final ruling

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Democrats will not vote for candidates for members of the Council of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) who have been convicted of abuse of office in a final court ruling, head of the Democrats MP group Boris Bogdanovic said.

The Podgorica High Court upheld the verdict of the Podgorica Basic Court, which sentenced former chair of the RTCG Council Veselin Drljevic and three council members to suspended prison terms of seven months for abuse of office regarding the reappointment of Boris Raonic as RTCG Director General in 2023.

Drljevic recently ran again as a member of the RTCG Council.

“After the verdict became final by which certain members of the RTCG Council were convicted of abuse of office, there is no legal, moral, or institutional basis for supporting them for such a responsible public position”, said Bogdanovic.

That is why, as he said, the Democrats would not vote for candidates for the RTCG Council who are included in the final ruling.
