Podgorica, (MINA) – The Law on Confiscation of Criminal Assets is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year, said Minister of Justice Bojan Bozovic, emphasizing that this department is developing a judicial vetting model, approved by both domestic and international legal experts.
He said that during the session of the National Security Council on Wednesday, several important topics for strengthening the rule of law were discussed, especially the issues of vetting in the judiciary and the Law on Confiscation of Criminal Assets.
When it comes to the vetting process, Bozovic said that the initiative to continue working on the creation of a model that will be aligned with the judiciary authorities and the European Commission is encouraged.
“Our goal is clear – to strengthen integrity and build public trust in the judicial system. The first steps are already visible, but we still have a lot of work ahead in order to create a system that will have the full support of both the domestic and international experts”, said Bozovic in a press release.
