Games of Chance Inspectorate finds irregularities 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Games of Chance Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance has identified irregularities with three operators, seizing four betting terminals and seven machines across four locations, and has initiated appropriate proceedings with the relevant authorities.

 

“In these specific cases, the police and the state prosecutor's office are undertaking investigative actions to determine whether any criminal offenses have been committed in this field, while the Directorate for State Property manages the temporarily seized items,” the Ministry of Finance stated in a press release.

 

The Ministry explained that, to ensure effective implementation of the Games of Chance Law, which entered into force in August, coordinated cooperation among the Ministry of Finance’s Games of Chance Inspectorate, the Games of Chance Administration, the police, and the State Property Administration has been recently intensified.

 

“This cooperation is a strong institutional response to illegal operation of games of chance and aims to strengthen legality, transparency, and the protection of the public interest,” the Ministry of Finance added.

 

According to the press release, the purpose of the enhanced coordination is to ensure the lawful, transparent, and efficient implementation of seizure measures, protect the public interest, and prevent illegal operation of games of chance.

 

“The Games of Chance Inspectorate continuously cooperates with the police controlling the presence of minors in gambling establishments, further strengthening the protection of children and youth,” the press release reads.

 

The competent authorities reiterated their commitment to continuing intensified inspections and coordinated activities in the coming period, sending a clear message that any violation of the law will be sanctioned.
