Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro, as a NATO ally, must build safe and reliable digital systems, said Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj and announced that he will propose to the Government that the company One remove Huawei and ZTE equipment from use.
He said that he fully supports the position of the United States regarding serious security risks posed by the equipment from Chinese manufacturers in key communication systems.
“As a NATO ally, Montenegro must align with the highest Euro-Atlantic security standards”, Gjeloshaj pointed out.
He said that, owing to the law amendments he had initiated, the Government now has a clear legal basis to limit or prohibit the use of equipment that poses risk to national security.
Gjeloshaj announced that he will propose to the Government that the One company remove Huawei and ZTE equipment from use, as well as that the new state data center must not be equipped with technology from these or other high-risk suppliers.
