Podgorica, (MINA) – President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic is assuming the role of the main obstructor of Montenegro’s European path through open obstructions, said Minister of European Affairs Maide Gorcevic, adding that commitment to European integration is measured by actions, not rhetoric.
Milatovic returned to Parliament for reconsideration the 25 laws adopted on Monday without debate, stressing that European reforms require a serious and responsible approach by MPs.
Commenting on his move, Gorcevic said that Milatovic has often unfoundedly criticized the pace of EU-related laws adoption.
“And now, with open obstructions, he is assuming the role of the main obstructor on the European path”, Gorcevic wrote on the X social network.
She said that returning the laws to Parliament does not mean additional discussion, but only a postponement of their adoption.
According to Gorcevic, the laws had been in the procedure for months, they were discussed at all parliamentary committees and received opinions from the European Commission.
“Actions, not rhetoric, show how truly committed someone is to the European path”, said she.
