Podgorica, (MINA) – The Government approved on Thursday the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Foreigners, which enables foreign nationals to extend their temporary residence or work permits even after the expiration of their travel documents.

The Government announced that the adoption of this Bill is foreseen by the action plans for the negotiation Chapter 24 – Justice, Freedom and Security and Chapter 2 – Freedom of Movement for Workers, as part of the efforts to further align national legislation with the EU regulations.

They clarified that the primary goal of the measures under Chapter 24 is to enable the free movement of people, while guaranteeing their safety, while the legal acquis for Chapter 2 enables citizens from one EU member state to work in another.
