Hajdukovic files lawsuit over Thirteen July Award decision

Hajdukovic files lawsuit over Thirteen July Award decision

Podgorica, (MINA) – Scientist Dragan Hajdukovic has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court due to, as he announced, an illegal and invalid decision by the jury responsible for awarding the Thirteenth of July Prize.

In the explanation of the lawsuit, Hadukovic stated that the Law on State Awards clearly defines six areas for which the Thirteenth of July Award can be awarded: art and culture, sports, natural and social sciences, economy, ecology, as well as the field of all other achievements that do not fall into any of the previous ones.

“In short, this year the jury awarded all three awards in only one of those six areas, despite the Law on State Awards requires that the three awards must be given in three different fields”, said Hajdukovic.

He assessed that, from a legal point of view, it is an indisputable violation of the law, as well as that the decision is illegal and therefore invalid.

Hajdukovic said that he is not asking for anything than adherence to the law and added that he is not aligned with other criticisms or controversies surrounding this year’s Thirteen of July Award.
