Podgorica, (MINA) - Democratic People’s Party (DNP) leader Milan Knezevic said that for several days the police have been visiting the location where the residents of Botun have set up tents in protest against the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, testing their willingness to stay there.
Addressing the citizens of Zeta who gathered on Saturday at the planned construction site, he said that “the presence of police cars, uniformed officers and the very fact that traffic was stopped signaled that they should gather here”, Portal Vijesti reports.
Previously, on Saturday morning, he called on citizens via social networks to head to Botun, claiming that the police were preparing to intervene against the citizens.
The Police Administration denied accusations, stating that the planned operation “Sljunak” was being conducted in the territory of Podgorica, with the aim of controlling individuals who illegally exploit and transport sand.
“I call on the Police Administration to say who it was arrested while stealing gravel from the Moraca River?”, said Knezevic.
