Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Head of the United Reform Action (URA) parliamentary group Milos Konatar said that Members of Parliament have still not received the Draft Budget Law for next year, even though the Government is obliged to submit it under the Budget and Fiscal Responsibility Law.
According to the Budget and Fiscal Responsibility Law, the Government is obliged to submit the Draft Budget Law to Parliament by 15 November, as well as to the Fiscal Council for review.
“What message is the Government sending to citizens by doing this – that the law does not apply equally to everyone? That all citizens must obey the law, except those currently in power?” Konatar asked.
He said that the budget for next year, about which information can only be obtained from the media, is €250 million lower than this year’s.
“That means there will be no development agenda—we will just be patching up holes and covering expenses,” Konatar said.
