Medenica leaves UIKS, placed under house arrest

Podgorica, (MINA) - The son of former Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica, Milos Medenica, was released from the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) and placed under house arrest, RTCG News Portal reports.

The High Court accepted the Special State Prosecutor’s Office’s (SDT) proposal and ordered house arrest for Medenica.

Medenica’s detention was lifted because a first-instance verdict was not issued within three years.

Medenica is accused, among other things, of forming a criminal organization in 2019, whose members allegedly included Vesna Medenica and nine other individuals, with the goal of smuggling cigarettes and unlawfully influencing the judiciary.
