Mikic calls for urgent session of Security and Defense Committee

Podgorica, (MINA) - The Civic Movement URA MP Zoran Mikic has called on the Chair of the Security and Defense Committee, Miodrag Lakovic, to schedule a session of that parliamentary body as soon as possible regarding the deterioration of the security situation in the country.

In the request addressed to Lakovic, Mikic stated that two murders in Podgorica in the last few days, in which a bystander was also injured, as well as the physical attack on Budva Mayor Nikola Jovanovic, rightly raise fear among citizens.

“When all this is taken together with the statement by Acting Chief of Police Administration, Lazar Scepanovic, that the security situation is becoming increasingly complex, it becomes clear that citizens cannot feel safe and protected”, said Mikic.

According to the URA’s press release, Mikic stressed that the Minister of Internal Affairs, Danilo Saranovic, as well as the leaderships of the Police Administration and the National Security Agency should be invited to the Committee session, as well as that the session should be open to the public.
