Parliament approves salary increase for judges and prosecutors

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Parliament of Montenegro adopted on Thursday the amendments to a set of laws which envisage a 30 percent salary increase for judges and state prosecutors.

The MPs adopted amendments to the laws on the Judicial Council and judges, on the State Prosecutor’s Office and on the Constitutional Court.

The amendments to the laws on the Judicial Council and judges and on the Constitutional Court were supported by 58 MPs, with three abstentions, and no votes against.

63 MPs voted in favor of the amendments to the Law on the State Prosecutor’s Office, with three abstentions, with no votes against.

The Parliament also adopted the Law on Health Care, aimed at, as previously announced, establishing an efficient, accessible and sustainable health care system, based on prevention, expertise and transparency.

The Parliament failed to adopt the Draft Law on Amnesty, which sought amnesty for individuals convicted of criminal offenses under Montenegrin laws and foreign judgment executed in Montenegro, which was proposed by the MPs of the New Serbian Democracy and the Democratic People’s Party.
