Radovic: Cooperation with DNB of great importance for CBCG

Washington, D.C., (MINA-BUSINESS) – Governor of the Central Bank (CBCG) Irena Radovic said that the cooperation with the Central Bank of the Netherlands (DNB) is of great importance for the CBCG, as it enables knowledge and experience exchange with one of the leading institutions in the Eurosystem.

“This directly contributes to the strengthening of the CBCG’s institutional capacities and its role in the EU integration process,” Radovic said at a meeting with the DNB President Olaf Sleijpen, held during the Annual Meetings of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.

The CBCG stated in a press release that they exchanged views on current economic and monetary developments, as well as on shared priorities in enhancing the resilience of the financial system and promoting good governance in central banks.

Radovic expressed appreciation to for the continued support, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with such a renowned Eurosystem central bank that has a long-standing tradition of professional excellence and a strong reputation in the fields of monetary policy, financial stability, and corporate governance.

Particular attention was given to the importance of the Needs Assessment project implemented by DNB in partnership with the National Bank of Belgium.

The purpose of the project is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the CBCG’s organisational alignment with the standards of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and the Eurosystem.

The project will result in concrete recommendations and a roadmap for their implementation, ensuring that the CBCG is fully prepared in regulatory, institutional, and organizational terms for future membership in the ESCB upon Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.

The key elements of future cooperation were defined during the initial mission held in June, including the project objectives and expectations, governance framework, technical approach, and communication channels, all of which will enable efficient implementation of the planned activities
