Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Transport announced that the regional road R-10 Djurdjevica Tara – Mojkovac has been reopened.

“The reopening of the road justifies the decision to keep it closed during the tourist season, as it was considered risky at the time, in order to allow the landslide rehabilitation works at the Sokolovina site to be carried out thoroughly and without any compromise on safety,” the Ministry said in a press release.

The Ministry added that this approach made it possible to complete all key structural elements, ensuring safe traffic.

According to the press release, Minister of Transport Maja Vukicevic previously clearly stated that the road would be opened as soon as the technical and safety conditions were met. 

 “Today’s reopening proves that the given word was not merely a promise, but a responsible decision based on the long-term interests of citizens. We are aware of how serious a problem the landslide on the regional road Djurdjevica Tara – Mojkovac was, which is why we were committed to its permanent rehabilitation,” the press release reads.

The Ministry added that the completed works guarantee greater safety, durability, and stability of the roadway, which has been a priority from the outset.
