Western Balkans holds great potential

Western Balkans holds great potential

Podgorica, London, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle, the Western Balkans is a region full of potential, which should focus on identifying opportunities in clean energy, infrastructure, and services.

He noted that UK expertise in these areas can make a real difference.

The British Embassy in Podgorica stated in a press release that the United Kingdom hosted a meeting of economy ministers as part of the Berlin Process, which brought together key partners from the Western Balkans and the European Union (EU) to strengthen regional economic integration and promote sustainable growth through enhanced trade, infrastructure development, and investment.

All Western Balkan countries were invited to the meeting, and Montenegro was represented by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy Nik Gjeloshaj.

According to the British Embassy, the meeting is part of the broader Western Balkans Summit, coordinated by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), while the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) leads the economic segment of the agenda.

“The United Kingdom used this platform to reaffirm its commitment to sectors aligned with its own trade and industrial strategies, including clean energy, financial services, and infrastructure,” the press release stated.
