Podgorica, (MINA) – Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic hosted a reception on Monday for Petar Ivanovic, the young man who rescued a woman from the swollen Moraca river on Saturday, and offered him a job within the Capital City’s system.
According to the Capital City PR Service, Mujovic said that Ivanovic represents the true image of Podgorica and everything that should be highlighted and nurtured, namely courage, heroism and sacrifice.
“Petar did not think about his own life, he simply jumped into the Moraca and offered a helping hand to someone who needed it. As a society, we really must affirm these values and promote them as an example for generations to come” Mujovic pointed out.
He added that in the times of political turmoil and daily controversies, what is truly permanent and important is often forgotten.
Mujovic emphasized that, in addition to the heroic act, he was particularly fascinated by Petar’s modesty.
“It is incredible how humble Petar is and how much he wants this event to remain just an ordinary occurrence, nothing deserving of attention”, stated Mujovic.
The Capital City announced that, as a sign of appreciation and respect, Mujovic and his team decided to offer Ivanovic a job within the Capital City system.
