Podgorica, (MINA) - Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic offers guarantees to the residents of Botun that are not within his jurisdiction, and rudely encroaches on the competencies of the Municipality of Zeta, this local government stated.

The Capital City previously announced that, under Mayor Mujovic’s leadership and with the support of the Government, they are ready to implement a number of significant infrastructure projects aimed at permanently improving the quality of life of Botun residents.

In response, the Municipality of Zeta stated that Mujovic continues to surprise the public with his offers to the citizens of Botun and that he does so in an extremely controversial manner.

“The sole culprit of the stagnation and slowed down development of our municipality is you, because you did not transfer a single square meter of land to our ownership and instead of engaging in cheap populism and bargaining, which you present as some kind of guarantee, it would be better to focus on your own backyard”, the press release said.

The Municipality of Zeta called on Mujovic to transfer the undisputed property to the ownership of the Municipality of Zeta, and to go to arbitration over disputed property.

They further said that Mujovic is confusing responsibilities, by referring to the reconstruction of the low-voltage electricity distribution network, which falls under the competence of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System.

“If you truly care about reaching an agreement and compromise, you should understand the messages from the local referendum, in which over 98 percent of citizens of Zeta, with voter turnout of almost 65 percent, clearly told you what they think about your offers and your plan. If you want an agreement, complete the demarcation process and build the plant on the territory of your municipality”, the Zeta Municipality stated in its response.
