Cooperation agreed in the field of transfer pricing

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of the Tax Administration (PU) and the international initiative Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) have signed a project agreement formalizing cooperation aimed at strengthening the capacities of tax inspectors in the field of transfer pricing audits.

“The agreement creates the conditions for the implementation of a professional support and training programme that TIWB experts will provide to Tax Administration officials in the coming period, with a particular focus on improving knowledge and practices in transfer pricing and international taxation,” the tax authority said in a press release

The importance of continuously strengthening the administrative and professional capacities of the tax administration was highlighted at a meeting between representatives of the Tax Administration, Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), particularly in light of increasingly complex international business models and the challenges associated with taxing multinational corporations.

Director of the Tax Administration Sava Laketic expressed satisfaction with the newly established cooperation, noting that TIWB’s support would contribute to further improving the efficiency of tax audits, facilitating the exchange of international experience, and implementing best practices in transfer pricing.

Deputy Director of the OECD’s Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, Ben Dickinson, said that the programme helps build shared practices by enabling experts to strengthen tax administrations through the exchange of knowledge and experience while supporting the implementation of international tax reforms.

Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Silke Hollander said that the TIWB programme represents a significant investment in strengthening the Tax Administration’s capacities in transfer pricing and international taxation.

According to TIWB expert Mesut Ardan, the tax environment is becoming increasingly complex, with digitalization, globalization, and cross-border business activities creating new challenges for tax administrations.

He added that TIWB stands ready to provide expert support and cooperation based on trust, knowledge sharing, and common objectives.
