Strong potential for boosting economic ties

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic, Montenegro and Spain have excellent political relations and friendly ties, but there is room to strengthen their economic cooperation.
He concluded his official visit to Spain with meetings with representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, as well as several Spanish companies.
Ivanovic thanked his hosts, saying that the meeting was an important opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss concrete models of economic cooperation.
According to a press release from his Office, Ivanovic presented Montenegro’s progress in its EU accession negotiations, focusing on reforms carried out in recent years.
He highlighted key sectors for potential Spanish investment, including tourism and hospitality, infrastructure, particularly road infrastructure, as well as the IT sector and digitalization of public administration.
The press release stated that Ivanovic expressed interest in seeing more Spanish companies present in Montenegro.
It was concluded that enhancing business connections and promoting Montenegro’s potential in the Spanish market would significantly contribute to closer economic cooperation between the two countries.
