Court grants permission to Aco Djukanovic to temporarily leave Montenegro

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – A judge of the Niksic Basic Court issued a permission to businessman Aco Djukanovic to temporarily leave the country, the Police Administration announced.

 

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against Aco Djukanovic, the brother of former Prime Minister and President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials.

 

Following media reports that Djukanovic had left Montenegro, the Police Administration announced that he was granted temporary permission to travel abroad by a judge of the Niksic Basic Court.

 

“Considering that this individual and this case have been the subject of significant public attention, we inform the public that the named individual was granted permission to temporarily leave the country by a judge of the Niksic Basic Court”, the press release states.
