Podgorica, (MINA) – The councillor club of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) has proposed party councilor Ivana Maskovic as chair of the Capital City Assembly, stating that if the majority does not accept her nomination, as well as if the blackmail and conditioning continues, they will back the Movement Preokret councillor Srdjan Peric for the position.
The DNP councilors club thanked the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) municipal board head Rados Zecevic for clarifying that in fact they do not support the DNP candidate for Assembly chair, and that their actions are merely an attempt to buy time with the intention of introducing forced administration in Podgorica.
“Our position has been clear from the beginning, we will not allow the introduction of forced administration in the Capital City, just as we will not allow conditioning and blackmails from our former coalition partners”, the DNP stated in a press release.
They added that if their proposal is not accepted by the former majority, and if they continue with blackmails and conditioning, they will support Srdjan Peric as Assembly chair in a technical mandate.
